Mental Health Support Solutions

Mental Health Support Solutions (MHSS) is a specialist provider of psychological support, training and consultancy services for the maritime industry. As a proud member of OneCare Group, we combine clinical expertise with a global healthcare network to deliver comprehensive wellbeing solutions for both individuals and organisations.

With a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced at sea and ashore, our experienced team of psychologists provides evidence-based, confidential support tailored to the needs of seafarers, shore-based personnel and maritime companies. From prevention and early intervention to crisis response and organisational consultancy, we work alongside some of the world's leading shipowners, managers and operators to help build healthier, safer and more resilient workplaces.

At some point, everyone may need support. Our role is to ensure that when that moment comes, professional help is accessible, practical and delivered by clinicians who understand the realities of the maritime industry.

AWARD WINNER 2025

Driving inclusion and wellbeing across the maritime sector

MHSS receives the Eily Keary Award for Diversity & Inclusion in Maritime, sponsored by BP - recognising our ongoing commitment to creating a safer, more inclusive industry. With a global team of over 100 psychologists working in 55+ languages, MHSS is proud to support seafarers from all backgrounds, cultures, and identities - on board and ashore. This award highlights key initiatives such as our Female Ambassadors Programme, LGBTQ+ specialist support, 24/7 multilingual helpline, onboard interventions, and family resources developed in partnership with The Swedish Club. It’s a proud moment for our team - and a reminder that mental health belongs at the centre of any truly inclusive maritime future.

AWARD WINNER

Leading the way in mental health support for a resilient maritime industry

MHSS triumphs as the Industry Partner Award winner at Seatrade's Global Awards 2023, acknowledging our outstanding 18-month initiative supporting Ukrainian seafarers.
Led by Alexander Dimitrevich, our team conducted 1,500+ interviews, held 500+ support meetings, and provided crucial insights benefiting the broader maritime community. This award reflects our collective dedication, partnering with industry leaders to establish a culture of care for the wellbeing of all maritime workers, on and offshore.

Mental Health Onboard

The state of the superyacht sector

As part of a unique industry partnership, Mental Health Support Solutions (MHSS) commissioned superyacht recruitment agency, Quay Crew, to carry out a mental health survey with crew via the company’s opted-in candidate database.

Over 1,000 anonymous recipients from more than 50 countries shared their mental health experiences. We hope to use the findings detailed in this report to highlight the most critical concerns among crew and possible causes of poor mental health to encourage the improved provision of support services across the sector.
